Courses, lessons, ideas and the calculators can be read without signing in, and reading them does not create an account or a profile. We do not use an advertising network or tracking pixel. When product analytics is enabled, PostHog receives only our explicit page-open and page-leave events; it does not record taps, typed text, or session replays, and does not retain an analytics identifier in your browser between visits.

We do count how many people open each page on a given day, so we know what is being read. That count is made on our server from a one-way hash of your network address and browser, with a key that changes every day. Neither the address nor the browser is kept, and the hash cannot be turned back into them or matched from one day to the next, so it tells us a page was opened without telling us who opened it.

Our servers keep ordinary technical logs — the kind every web server keeps, such as the address a request came from and which page it asked for. They exist to keep the service running and secure, and they are not used to build a picture of anyone.

Signing in is what makes the app remember you, and it is the only reason any of the following is stored.

• Your account — Your email address, your first and last name if you give them, and your profile picture if you signed in with Google. Accounts live in our own database; there is no password, because signing in is a code sent to your email or your Google account. We keep these details so pages can greet you and so a certificate can carry your name.
• Your progress — Which lessons you have opened and finished, how far through a video you watched, your answers to questions and end-of-module assessments, work you save in an activity, and any rating you give a module.
• What you keep — Passages you highlight, notes you write on them, ideas you save, and which stacks of ideas you have opened.

We do not ask for or store payment details, a date of birth, a postal address, or any of the categories of sensitive personal information — health, beliefs, biometrics and the like. Please do not put such information into a note or an activity, since those are stored as you type them.

Some things never reach us at all. They live in your browser and are cleared when you clear the site’s data.

• Calculator inputs — The figures you enter into the planning tools are saved locally so they are still there when you come back. They are never sent to our servers.
• Downloaded courses — A course you download for offline reading is stored on the device and attached to the account that downloaded it. Signing in as someone else clears it.
• Preferences — Your light or dark theme choice, and a note of prompts you have dismissed.

The only cookies set are the ones that keep you signed in and protect the sign-in process. There are no advertising or analytics cookies. Clearing them signs you out; nothing else about the site depends on them.

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising. It reaches these companies only because they run parts of the service:

• Postmark — Delivers the email that carries your sign-in code. It receives your email address and the code, nothing else.
• Google — Only if you choose to sign in with it. Google tells us your email address, your name and your profile picture; we do not receive your Google password and cannot read anything else in your Google account.
• Railway — Hosts the application, the database and the file storage where course media lives.
• PostHog — If product analytics is enabled, receives the page events described above so we can measure aggregate usage. It is not used for advertising.
• Sentry — Receives automatic reports when something goes wrong. A report carries your account identifier so we can tell a single stuck account from a general outage — deliberately not your name or your email.
• ImageKit — Delivers images quickly, where it is switched on. It receives the request for a picture, not your account details.

If your organisation gave you access to a course, the people who administer it can see your progress through it — that is the point of assigning it. They cannot read your private notes or highlights.

The typeface this site uses is served from our own servers, so loading a page does not tell a font provider that you visited.

We hold your account details because they are necessary to give you the service you asked for, and your progress and notes for the same reason — they are the service. Error reports and security logs we keep because we have a legitimate interest in the app working and not being abused. Where the law where you live requires your consent instead, you give it by creating an account, and you can withdraw it by deleting it.

Your account and everything attached to it are kept while the account exists. Ask us to delete it and we remove your account, your progress, your notes and your saved ideas. Error reports are kept for a limited period by Sentry and then discarded. We may keep anonymous counts — how many people finished a course — that cannot be traced back to anyone.

Whatever the law where you live entitles you to, you can ask us for here:

• A copy of what we hold about you.
• A correction, if something is wrong. Your name and email can also be changed yourself, from the account menu.
• Deletion of your account and everything with it.
• That we stop using it in a particular way, or an explanation of how it is used.

Write to the address below and we will answer. We will not make the service worse for you because you asked.

This is a training product made for adults at work. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child has an account here, write to us and we will remove it.

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Course media is held in private storage and released only through short-lived links to people allowed to see it, which is why a picture URL stops working after a while. Access to the database is limited to the people who run the service. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise; if a breach affects you we will tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change materially affects what we do with your information, we will say so in the app rather than leave you to notice.
